Is your food supplying the nutrients your body needs? While we all might think we eat pretty healthily, the reality is far different than we might expect.
To shed some light on this subject, I want to invite you to join me in a conversation I had recently with Jordan Rubin, author of the New York Times bestselling book The Master’s Diet, founder of Garden of Life products, and a committed health food advocate and educator.
This is the first part of the Healthy Eating series with Jordan Rubin.
PT – What got you so interested in health and wellness?
Jordan – I learned about health the hard way. At age 19, I was diagnosed with multiple serious health issues – Crohn’s disease, symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, chronic fatigue, plus many other health challenges that resulted in the loss of 80 pounds and confined me to a wheelchair. Everything I tried with conventional and natural medicine (over 70 doctors in all) did not work. I was challenged to follow a diet and a health plan based on the Bible, proven through history and confirmed by science. At the brink of near death and without other options at the time, I accepted the challenge. I somehow knew at that time, that if this diet plan would save me, I would learn all I can from that experience and share it with others. It is obvious what it did for my health and now it has become my passion and mission in life – to transform people’s health one life at a time.
